Composite cladding does the jobs rendered walls and timber battens do badly in the Sydney climate. The board is co-extruded, a sealed polymer cap wrapped 360° around a wood-fibre core, so it takes UV, salt air, splash and western sun without greying, cupping or needing a re-coat.

- Pool surrounds: chlorine, splash and constant damp don't reach the core. No rot, no swelling, no rust streaking down the wall.

The 2.7m Teak/Black combination board at $37 is the premium finish: extra height for double-storey elevations and a two-tone grain that reads as real timber from the street.
