Charcoal co-extruded WPC composite fence installed along a landscaped Sydney residential boundary

Installation Guide

Installing your Fencly WPC fence.

Two ways to mount a Fencly fence. Bolted down onto concrete, a brick wall or a deck, or set into the ground on concrete footings. Download the step-by-step PDF for the bolt-down method, or watch the ground installation video below.

Method 01 · Bolt Down

Concrete, brick walls and decks.

Where there's a slab, a retaining wall or a deck to fix to, the aluminium posts sit in steel holders that anchor straight down into the surface. The 10-page PDF walks through the whole sequence with dimensions, fixings and diagrams.

  • Every component named, from posts to post caps
  • Panel, post and rail dimensions for 1800 and 1500mm heights
  • Setting out, so each set of panels divides evenly
  • Drilling and anchoring the steel holders to the surface
  • Posts, L brackets, bottom rail, boards and top rail, in order

Method 02 · Into The Ground

Ground installation, start to finish.

Posts dug in and concreted, then the boards slide into the channels. Watch the full sequence, and take the PDF with you for the confirmed sizes.

  1. 01
    Plan the layout

Measure the full run first and divide it into equal panel sections where you can. Standard panels are 1800mm wide.

  2. 02
    Mark and dig

Use a rail with the L brackets attached as your spacing guide rather than a tape alone. Dig to a minimum 600mm for standard ground burial, and check for underground services first.

  3. 03
    Set the posts

Stand each 68 x 68mm post plumb, checking two adjacent faces with a spirit level, then concrete it in and brace it. Let the concrete cure fully before anything else goes on.

  4. 04
    Rails, boards, caps

Fit the bottom rail, slide the boards in, fix the top rail, then the strip over the fixings and a post cap on each post. Repeat panel by panel, checking level as you go.

Installation FAQ

Questions before you start.

Can I bolt the posts to a concrete slab or brick wall?

Yes. Posts fix to base plates and bolt down with masonry anchors, which is the standard approach on slabs, retaining walls, balconies and courtyards. The PDF guide above covers the fixings, spacings and levels for that method.

How deep do the footings need to be for a ground install?

Dig to a minimum depth of 600mm for standard ground burial, using the 2500mm post for a 1.8m fence or the 3000mm post for 2.1m and above. Check for underground services before you dig, and check local council requirements, particularly for pool and boundary fencing.

Can I install it onto a timber or composite deck?

Yes, provided the deck framing can carry the load. Posts bolt through to a joist or bearer rather than to decking boards alone. The PDF guide covers deck mounting.

Do you install, or is it supply only?

Supply only. Fencly supplies WPC composite fencing, cladding and gates. We do not install, but we're happy to recommend trusted local installers. Kits ship Australia-wide from our Silverwater warehouse, or pick up in person.
