How much does WPC fencing cost?

Straight answers, no hidden pricing. Supplied and installed, WPC composite fencing generally runs $250–$380 per linear metre — here's exactly what drives that figure, and why it costs less to own than timber over 25 years.

Supplied & installed: as a rule of thumb, a finished 1.8m WPC boundary in Sydney lands around $250–$380 per linear metre once posts, footings, gates and labour are included. Site access, slope and old-fence removal move the number within that band.

Supply-only (DIY / trade): we ship capped WPC kits Australia-wide at a lower per-metre rate. Trade pricing is available for contractors and landscapers with an ABN.

What You're Paying For

What drives the price of a WPC fence?

Two quotes for "WPC fencing" can differ by thousands. Here's what actually moves the number, so you can compare like for like:

  • Height: a 1.8m fence uses more board and taller posts than a 1.5m fence — expect a step up in price per metre.
  • Gates: single gates from $599 and double gates up to $1,299 each; they're the single biggest line-item after the run itself.
  • Total metres: longer runs spread fixed costs (delivery, mobilisation) and usually lower the per-metre rate.
  • Colour & profile: premium woodgrain finishes and wider boards cost a little more than standard charcoal.
  • Site access & slope: tight access, stepped ground or rock all add labour.
  • Old fence removal: tear-out and tip fees for an existing fence, if needed.
  • Capped vs uncapped board: the biggest hidden trap — cheap uncapped WPC fades and swells in 3–5 years. Fencly only supplies co-extruded, capped board with a 15-year warranty.

Cheap now vs cheap to own

Timber paling looks cheapest on day one, but it needs staining or oiling roughly every two years and rots or warps within 8–15 years. Colorbond avoids the staining but dents, fades and can rust at the base. Because capped WPC needs none of that upkeep, its 25-year cost of ownership typically undercuts timber and runs close to Colorbond — while still looking like timber.

Cost FAQ

WPC fencing cost questions.

How much does WPC fencing cost per metre?

Supplied and installed, roughly $250–$380 per linear metre depending on height, colour, gates and access. Supply-only DIY kits are lower per metre. Every Fencly quote is a fixed price inclusive of GST after a free measure.

Is WPC dearer than timber or Colorbond?

Upfront it's about 25–40% more. But with no staining, painting or board replacement, WPC usually costs less to own than timber over 25 years and is competitive with Colorbond. See the comparison →

Why is one quote cheaper than another?

Often because the cheaper quote uses uncapped WPC that fades and swells within a few years. Also check height, gate count, post system and whether removal is included. Fencly only supplies co-extruded capped board.

Is the quote really free and fixed?

Yes — a free on-site measure, a fixed price inclusive of GST, no obligation, and colour samples brought to site so you can see the finish before deciding.
